Academic Mentor

Welcome to Mentor Me! We are thrilled you are interested in academically supporting our young people during these unprecedented times. We love seeing our students truly have a village looking out for them and their well-being!

In an effort to address learning loss and support the social-emotional development of our young people, we are inviting interested community members to volunteer as Academic Mentors. As an Academic Mentor, you will be paired with a 9th – 12th grader to work on specific subjects while supporting their self-management, relationship-building, and self-awareness skills.

Building upon your subject matter skills, our training will provide tools and strategies to work with young people from a strengths-based framework. While the focus is academic improvement, our approach encompasses elements of positive youth development and trauma informed care.
